Approach notes

From Starý Smokovec either follow the trail or take the funicular to Hrebienok. From here it is a short walk along the red trail (Northbound) into Veľká Studená dolina. Look out for the small sign on the left where you will often see a small broken in trail in the snow up to the ice. If you reach a large map sign, the stream or Rainerova Chata then you have gone too far; backtrack for 2 minutes.
