350m, 11 pitches. The most famous and classic hard free route in Zion, with a controversial history that affected the attitude to free climbing in the canyon for many years. After four entry pitches, the route enters a huge corner and follows an immaculate crack system the full height of the buttress. Sustained laybacking and finger jamming are the main keys to success, but there is also some tricky face climbing and a couple of strenuous flares.

Peter Croft & Johnny Woodward (FFA) 1992.
