Bovey Woods

Afternoon. Bearacleave. Bottom of Bearacleave, not been to this section before. Onsighted easy up route Patia Plod then flashed Jalfrezi (the traverse), feet low until the last section around the arete. Also flashed Jalfrezi (High Spice, Low Feet Variant) keeping feet lower around the arete, dropping hands down onto lower hold before going to crack. Used one foot hold about 1m high so possibly borderline but repeated that section with a lower one and it didn't feel harder. Flashed Korma the straight up on arete. Broke foot I used so tried again and repeated first time. Went over and did Ape Index Arête. Pull on (with feet on face) felt hard but had a few tries and it started feeling easier, left hand bump felt very blind. Did middle section to top then tried start. First time I managed to properly stuck the bump went to top. Didn't feel reachy to me. Went and onsighted Slither, exciting with dodgy landing. Tried to onsight The Serpent but beta wasn't good. Worked out another sequence, tried the move in isolation then did the problem. Repeated it 3 or 4 times for a video. Onsighted Steve's Trouser Snake, thought first move would be really hard but did it first try after a lot of playing with start position. Lastly onsighted Shed Skin, the wall left of the arete. Pulled on with both palms pressing out (right on metolious) and wide left foot. On the way out tried Rogan Josh (low sit start up to bad sloper, foot up then a very awkward rockover). Thought it would be easy but really hard. Sloper is bad and the rockover very tricky to release right leg. Tried a bit but skin was very sore and others waiting to leave. Had an awful painful hand slip and almost teared my finger nail. Too painful so gave up.
