Calf Crag summit 537m
Gibson Knott summit 420m
Helm Crag summit 405m
Steel Fell summit 553m Started out from home at 2200 and got to Grasmere at 0145. I parked up in the lay-by just outside Grasmere on the A591, and got some sleep.
After having breakfast and getting ready, i set off heading through Grasmere to the start of the route. The weather today wasn't too bad at all, abit cloudy at times, with the cloud base coming down throughout the day, but all in all fine views.
First port of call was Helm Crag, via the usual path up. The summit was cloud-ridden so i decided to move on. Moving along the ridge line towards Gibson Knott, the cloud base kept lowering and raising. Got to the summit of Calf Crag and the views were fantastic, so i decided to get my DJI Mini 4 Pro drone into the air to get some fantastic aerial shots.
After packing the drone away, i made my way over to the final Fell of the day, Steel Fell. Unfortunately, on the summit the cloud base was down again, but did lift again while descending down the ridge towards Grasmere, giving me some beautiful views of the Helvellyn range.
After reaching Grasmere, i made my way to the Easdale Valley, and walking the Bridleway up to Easdale Tarn, where i would be camping for the night.
On reaching the Tarn, i quickly set up my tarp tent, then had had a quick play with the drone again to get some air shots of where i will be sleeping.
My dinner that night was Thanksgiving bomb, and Custard & fruit for pudding.
It was the first time using the tarp tent, and it did well. it rained through the night, but i was still dry. My only fault with it is that it is abit hard to get in and out of,and once the inner is up, there isn't alot of room for admin.
