Craig Pant Ifan (Tremadog) - Poor Man's Peuterey S 4a *** Went for some lead practice (eek!) Think this is the third multi trad I’ve ever lead on? Went out with the legend that is Martin Sadler as trad dad and lovely Holly for the vibes! I lead pitch 1 which was harder than I wanted to do today! But I did it with no issues (bar commiting to loads of committing moves in a row!). Placed loads of gear on the first 2/3rd which was apparently good. Then added a sling I thought was a bit pants, (but Holly said was alright) for confidence after getting onto the final arête. Was v scared and had a very dry mouth and adrenaline when I got to the top. Set up a decent anchor at the first large tree with space for everyone on the ledge. Easier than my fear made out! 2nd pitch was a slimy tree branch ladder. Admired the traverse and nose pitch from our stance before bailing as rain had set in and a wet slab didn’t sound too appealing. Massively thankful to Martin for looking after us! Had a great day personally ! Will come back again, probably be just as scared but that’s how you know you’re alive baby |
