Thanks. If we're talking trees, some of the best larch I've seen in the country -- if they're still there -- and some whopping Douglas firs. There's also a small tree in one of the bays that's often festooned with ribbons. Anyone know why?

Real whoppers those firs. I'd guess the ribbon tree is one of those sites that seem to crop up all over the place where some people feel the need to leave tat for the fairies/spirits/delete as appropriate

That used to be my evening run after work. I was living at Derwent Hill outdoor centre at the time. Running up Catbells would kill me now.
