Neil Mawson has nipped in to make a very fast repeat of a new route from James Pearson in Huntsman's Leap, Pembroke.

James climbed the direct start to From Dusk till Dawn, which is a new route weighing in at E8.

Neil Mawson, also on good Pembroke form, led the route a few days ago:

"I'd heard on the grape vine that James [Pearson] had done a new route in Huntsman's Leap. I quickly worked out where it went from the line of chalked holds below From Dusk till Dawn. I had a quick play on top rope and a few days later led it thinking it to be around E8 6c or F7c+ish."

It would seem that Huntsman's Leap is still not climbed out and quality new lines are still being found:

"The route is amazing climbing with the gear being good and the route is safe but with a bit of a run out to get to a peg just below joining From Dusk till Dawn."

Neil compared it to the other Pembroke E8 he climbed a couple of weeks ago:

"I found it easier in terms of difficultly than San Simeon, maybe a little more run out but still safe".

'Pearson in route overgrade shocker' Good effort Neil.

Mawson (IIRC) also was responsible for downgrading the other E9 in Huntsman's Leap to E8 (Chupacabra). Are you going to jump on Ben Bransby's case for the original overgrading of that? I suspect not. Pearson can't win really, can he?
