The 6.0 magnitude earthquake triggered landslides which trapped 137 climbers. No deaths have yet been reported, but the quake was large enough to cause part of the mountain's iconic "Donkey's Ears" to collapse.

The climbers are reportedly making their way to safety in a guest house high on the mountain. Earlier rescue attempts by helicopter were aborted due to poor weather.
