55 year old Peter Schofield from Middlewich in Cheshire sustained serious injuries in a fall at Awesome walls in Stockport on December the 27th. He died a few days later on New year's Eve in hospital.

At present the precise cause of Peter's accident isn't known and Health and Safety are investigating. When their report is made public we will summarise the main findings. We would like to ask people not to speculate on the UKC Forums before the reason for the accident is made clear.

Peter was a long-time climber and mountaineer and was married with one daughter.
