Scottish Natural Heritage recommended last year that the park should cover 2,800 sq miles, but the new proposal takes in only about 1,500.
Cairngorms Campaign Officer, Bill Wright warned,
"The Executive's unexplained decision to eliminate Perth & Kinross and Angus from the National Park is likely to result in the absurd alignment of the boundary along the summit of what are probably the most remote mountains in the UK."
