The BMC’s Regional Access Database – or RAD as it’s more snappily known – is the definitive source of access info on the web. And now it’s available as an app for iPhones as well as Android.

From bird restrictions and parking advice to sensitive approaches and advice on local ethics, the BMC Regional Access Database (RAD) is the place to go to find out whether you can climb on a crag and just how to approach it.

RAD is now available on the BMC website, as an Android app and an iPhone app

You can search from crags (or just let your phone show you nearby crags with access information), report an access problem and mark crags as favourites for quick access updates on your dashboard.

BMC Access and Conservation Officer Elfyn Jones said: “The whole BMC access team were very pleased with the original Android App, but it was obvious that there was also a very strong demand for an iPhone version.  Using funds from the BMC’s access budgets, we’ve managed to get the iPhone version out in time for summer.”
