Ski Special on UKClimbing and UKHillwalking

This week we have a variety of great ski articles across UKC and UKH. The ski week kicked off yesterday with a brilliant piece; Scotland: 10 Best Beginner's Ski Tours by Stuart & Alasdair Buchanan.

Today we have gone for the other end of the ski spectrum with an inspirational piece by top skier Tom Grant. His article on the descent of the Sentinelle Rouge couloir features some extreme ski mountaineering in an amazing location.

Later in the week we have some instructional and advice pieces on the different types of skiing, which are most applicable to climbers, and what kind of skis set up you need for your chosen discipline.

And to top it all off, the staff here at UKC and UKH have just come back from the huge tradeshow of ISPO, where we saw loads of new kit, both climbing and skiing. This winter sports tradeshow is attended by all the top brands, and in our series of reports over the coming weeks we'll give you the low down on what is hot and what is not.

But as this is a ski special piece, we absolutely had to throw in this quick video showing perhaps the hottest new thing in ski safety this year - the Jetforce pack from Black Diamond: check it out!
