IFSC World Championships Moscow 2021 - 2nd place
Born and raised in Liguria, Camilla is another second-generation athlete whose parents are both climbers. Her father Riccardo Moroni competed in IFSC events and is now her coach. Moroni - and her passionate, expressive style in competitions - stormed onto the senior circuit in 2021, when she made her first Boulder World Cup semi-finals and unexpectedly won silver in Boulder at the IFSC World Championships in Moscow.
In the 2023 season, Camilla’s Boulder prowess seemed to take the back seat as she placed 41st in Boulder and 21st in Lead, and 29th in Boulder & Lead combined. An Italian Boulder Championship title and a 2nd place at the Keqiao World Cup reasserted her Boulder capabilities, and by the OQS she managed to find the balance between both disciplines.
Camilla wears her heart on her sleeve and her tops are always celebrated with a fist-bump and shouts of joy. Her powerful climbing style and gutsy determination make for exciting viewing.
Olympic Qualifier Series - 11th place
An 8th place in Shanghai and 13th place in Budapest led to Camilla finishing 11th overall.
Like a number of Italian athletes, Camilla is part of the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro, the sport section of the Italian police force Polizia di Stato.
10th -15th
Camilla’s Boulder prowess could yield good results in the first phase of the competition, but her Lead performance isn't consolidated enough just yet to break into finals.
