Great. Lyskamm is one beautiful mountain

Nice picture of the face. The Welzenbach goes almost direct to the left-hand (higher) summit.
I would love to do the traverse, I hear it is a great day out and a classic line.

How does the Welzenbach differ from the Normand Neruda, Simon?

How does the Welzenbach differ from the Norman-Neruda?
As far as I can see it goes right next to it, but doesn't touch the mid-face rock-ribs at all, after all, why would you in decent ice-conditions (which I had), with modern gear? I imagine that Norman and Neruda went onto the rock to avoid step-cutting more than was essential, they were probably very used to loose rock.
The only rock for me was a tiny step at the very top of the face.
