Yes, memories (I climbed there 1977-8).

Hi Mark, yes, we spent most Tues evenings during the 70s there! Old fogies...

Great to here from some legends! Did you manage to climb the Arch? It's great fun. I've done the entire wall including the arch a few times when I working on a bit of endurance training. Don't allow myself any rests in the corners just try and race to the other side. Brings a proper pump on!! I was trying to climb it in this picture without using any of the middle blocks so just compression all the way round. Couldn't work out how to cross over but I think I've worked a sequence now! Going to give it a go if it ever stops raining!

Yes, in both directions, with or without the holds inside. We'd do back to back traverses for stamina. Lot's of the Birmingham crowd used the wall - most, like me, had never seen the inside of the university. Another Bournbrook addict was Jimmy Jewell. It was a very competetive scene then. Though I can't remember which, some bays were distinctly harder than others. You could rest while traversing the easier ones. I remember a then student, Dave Oxenham, producing a guide, but I never saw it. Great memories, thanks for posting the photo.

There is 'current' guide if you'd like me to forward it. I say current, it's a good few years old.
