Hi Hippo100, I'm not in Cyprus anymore and these routes were bolted long before I arrived. Before you get busy with the bolt croppers you may wish to consider a number of points: 1. Cypriot climbing ethics are vastly different to out own and the last time i checked the island was still called Cyprus (implying some level of local ownership). 2. This is a very popular venue with locals and service persons alike; primarily because of the accesability and the bolted routes. 3. Chopping the bolts would place these routes beyond the ability of most climbers. 4. As you correctly point out most of the bolted routes in Cyprus were originaly climbed on trad gear by Brits - however - see point 1. I do agree with you about the graffti it's discraceful. If you are intent on removing the bolts and unconcerned by offending the locals I would strongly suggest that you contact the following service groups first as all of them use this venue. CJATC, The OP Tosca AT element and the Akrotiri climbing club (JSC3)

"The majority of these routes were climbed in the 60'sand 70's using conventional protection and in most cases wearing boots." Rubbish - a smallish number of the easier ones were.
"and the renaming by persons of unknown origin" . Only unknown if you have had absolutely no connection with Cyprus climbing in the last 15 years or so. Let's meet up next time you're over here and I'll introduce you.
"At some time soon I intend to remove the bolts." You dogged a few routes in big boots some years ago IN SOMEONE ELSE'S COUNTRY, haven't returned since, yet think the nationals of the island should not have any say in how the sport is developed. To say that you are an arrogant prick is a mild understatement. No wonder Brits are hated so much in otger countries. Oh by the way - Cyprus is no longer a colony of GB. Perhaps this has escaped your attention.
