Going to the alps first time this summer, is this normal/usual occurrence?

Sometimes...

Is this a new alpine sport? The snow bridge was still intact in July so the only reason for leaping it in June must have been for fun. Not my idea of fun but a good photo all the same. Scarab these days late in the season long jumping becomes a alpine skill!
