Anyone who thinks that ALL mountain crags should remain unbolted should look at these photos. Brilliant. I'd love to climb on Tunnel Wall.

Ah, but IS Tunnel Wall a mountain crag? It's low on the hill, close(ish) to the road and completely out on a limb from any of the mountaineering and trad aspects of the Buachaille.
Apart from Carnivore...
Which nobody ever does now.

Well, just going on the database description...
'... Tunnel Wall itself is that rarest of things in the UK - a mountain sport climbing crag...and a blooming good one at that!'
Cubby once told me the only reason the bolts stayed in, was that it was him that had put them there. I'd still love to climb on it, but sadly I'm probably no longer capable of doing so.

Cubby certainly proved himself to be a bit visionary; there was a big printed media bunfight at the time but the bolts prevailed, the crag became well-used and nobody gets hot under the collar now.
HOWEVER, to use the crag as a stalking-horse for bolts on high mountain crags would be a mistake, in my opinion. I think it may have been Cubby that said the Echo Wall would only go with bolts...

I'm not suggesting any other mountain crags should receive the same treatment at all. Simply pointing out to critics of Tunnel Wall - there were, and probably still are, quite a few - that for once they were probably wrong. Maybe I expressed myself poorly...?

No, I think I did. Such stalking horses exist, but I wouldnt describe you as one of them.
