Not a great photo but very evocative for me. We were setting out to descend into the very remote and lonely Monument Basin to try Standing Rock; a 400' soft rock spire. I was scared sh*tless and sure I was going to die.

We felt the same way. Luckily we didn’t die either and lived to experience one of the best summits in the area.
