Of course, swimming in Doxy's Pool, is something you never, never do, unless you are ignorant of the superstitions that surround it. Marc had just come down from Yorkshire... I wouldn't even put my big toe in that pool.

You appear to have taken me seriously! The real reason I wouldn't swim in the pool is that it was surprisingly cold and rather murky. But of course Marc and Duncan were very warm from climbing - though I think Duncan refrained from taking a dip.
