Our porters for the walk in were quite a professional group, organised with the help of Mike Cheney. The team for the walk out (see my previous photo) was assembled by a local guy named Dorje. Three or four were young girls who, as you can see, were quite charming. I wonder what they are all doing now.
I was wearing a pair of white Levis which were at least eight weeks from the last wash and a pair of Hush Puppy type shoes, which I wore for the 24 day march in and out without even the hint of a blister !
