First ascent of new crag on decent rock.

This crag has been climbed on since the 1960s by Rugby Mountaineering Club members with the obvious lines all having been climbed. Approx 10 years ago we cleared a fair amount of loose rock from most lines

I wasn't suprised to see your comments that the obvious lines have been climbed, assuming that the cottage was probably used by mountaineers heading for 'Craig yr Ysfa' it would have been good practice ground. The lines we have now climbed and recorded will be included in the CC Carneddau Guide. I will pass your comments on to Mike Baily the author. Thanks.

I'll try to dig out the old Cwm Eigiau Cottage logbooks which have some accounts of the routes done.
The crag may well have been climbed on much earlier by the Rucksack Club who first used the cottage as a hut in 1912
