45 meter route straight out the lake - E3 6a
billb - 26/Aug/13
Is it really 6a? Wow. I think I seconded it cleanly when I tried it many years ago. I didn't think I'd ever climbed 6a before! :)

Definitely E3 but maybe not 6a. It was very hot and my feet very swollen. I still cant get my head around the Finnish grading. Everything at Olhava is grade 6?

Not too many Finns have got their heads round Finnish grades either! :) The main problem is no one has ever been able to tell me whether the grades is the hardest move like UK tech grades, or over-all feel (like French grades). Even at Olhava there are 6- routes that might just scrape HVS 5b for having one, delicate, well protected move surrounded by VS climbing and others where every move must be 5b for 25 mtrs or more! Not really the same feeling to climb! I think Finnish grades are dying out and French grades becoming the norm.
