Route: Slab Route (Ordinary) (VD ) Climbers: Geoff Fixter, Eric Marr. Camera used: Kodak Box Brownie. Scan from B/W print. Date taken: May 1958
How the crag used looked in 1958. The big corner behind the climbers was the classic VD, The Chimney [1957]. The Joker HVS [1972] climbed the big pillar on the right. Eliminator E2 5b [1967], took the highest crack on the left. Captain's Controversy [1965]/ Stimulator [1967] climbed the cracks further left.
The rock collapses are due to continuing settlement in old Ironstone mines which lie a few hundred feet below the summit.
Thanks for uploading this one. It's fantastic to see how much has collapsed. I can't really see what is going to go next - maybe the entire face of the pasketti alpinist?!
