The start and finish of the main pitch have just been cleaned.

can you please leave the crags alone they don't need scrubbing for your convenience.... l have done shark many times and it has been done regularly every season so all the holds have been clean for years ...just stop this ocdc behavior and leave the natural flora as it is ....this is not a climbing wall

I did this a few weeks ago and remember all of the holds being pretty clean. Thought the brillo added a bit of character actually.

Actually, the holds have only been clean since 2007, when i cleaned them. It was vertical astroturf until then. Look on the ukc logbook and see how often Shark was done before that. I'm sorry if clean rock us not your thing.

Climbed it 1975 and again in 1983 and don't recall any "brillo" problems

Not everyone shouts about the route they have done in ukc logbooks... l did shark in 2006 and some friends did magic flute on the same trip ....only the holds were clean on both routes ... it's not about cleaning being anyones "thing".... it's about being able to continue climb on this fantastic island it is an SSSI and we have no right to be removing large quantities of vegetation ...hopefully you are not the fool who put belay stakes in at top of devils chimney cliff. climbing is a privilege not a right to alter the environment

Well, that'll learn you :-)
