Hi Jon, Without a very large cam it's difficult to protect the crux, once committed into the crux a fall would be a ground fall, probably catching the ledge en-route! It's only one move but I've done better protected VS 5a's! ;-)
Hi Fraser, Only choose Stanage on sunny Saturdays if your feeling sociable.

Ah OK, I didn't realise you were referring to one of those routes. Which one is it?
VS 5a's are better protected than VS 4c's, of course!

Hi Jon,
It's beggars Crack, some say VS 5a, BUT originally it was graded HVD in 1951.
