Jules on the Crux pitch of Skeleton Ridge

Looks wonderful fun.

Would this gear really hold a fall? Or is the chalk exceptionally unsoft?

The pegs are very rusty. So testing them wouldn't be advisable. However some very long slings around the ridge might protect against a small fall (Though the high winds we experienced meant they didn't stay on). The larger flint chicken heads can be tied off with a sling. Some could actually be bomber. However they often come off in your hand too!

Pegs are quite old but there are a few new ones at the belay anchors, I would not expect them to hold a fall. Holds can come off at any time. I pulled one on the top pitch which I didn't even think it was loose and I was sat on it two seconds before. Its an amazing route but extremely care need to be taken.
