Wonderful historical photo - the best I think I've seen so far of Patsy Walsh.

Hi Mick, is that caption wrong ? I copied it from Geoff's album and assumed that the left to right count included the guy seated with arms folded. The only climber I know personally and recognise is Geoff Arkless so I cant verify the correctness of the identification penned in the album. If the count does not include the seated chap then the young lady is standing where Patsy Walsh should be. ???? Help !

I have read that Pat Walsh's wife's name was also Pat, so the Patsy referred could well be her. None of the guys looks like Pat himself though! The lad at the back with the red top is probably Charlie Vigano, and the tall guy with the blue shirt looks like John McLean.

That could be the answer to the who's who of this shot Colin, thank you for that. Geoff is now in a nursing home and unable to make any comment himself so I am a little in the dark about details of many of the photographs that I hope to post for him over time.

Thank you. Peter Cowie, that's added another dimension to the who's who puzzle. Geoff has left me with a stinker . I wiil have to try and get his wife to clarify if she can, She worked at the old DG in those days and may remember some of these guys. As I said above, the only one I recognise is Geoff Arkless.

Thanks to all for their help in trying to identify climbers in this shot . Geoff's wife kindly sorted it out in the end and the caption should now read true to the photo. Phew !!!
