Taken on Breidamerkursandur beach as ice calves off the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier, part of larger Vatnajökull Glacier. The ice blocks flow into the Jokulsarlon lagoon and gets washed out to sea before the tides deposits them back on the beach.

Great shot James...would like to see the one with the sunburst coming through the hole too.

Thanks uistgr! I tried the sun through the hole but unfortunately the sunstar obscured the surrounding ice. I preferred this slightly higher angle in the end as you got a better view of the light diffracting through the ice.
