Hi Mark. Just curious as to which bit of the river your otter was in. Over many years I must have walked the whole length from Hall Cove to Park Point and never had the privilege. Regards, Karl.

Hi Lankyman, I feel very privileged. There were two otters swimming downstream together outside of the Riverside Hotel breakfast window. They went under the bridge and we lost them after that. I'd heard a few years back that one had been seen, so have been keeping a keen eye out ever since. However, all credit for spotting has to go to Neil Henson who is very good at this. Hope your luck changes soon, Mark

When the appartment complex next to the riverside hotel was built about twelve years ago , a planning condition was to construct an otter holt in the river bank. Maybe the otters have found it and taken up residence.

Cool, thanks for the local knowledge.
