Linking various weaknesses up this huge vertical wall of immaculate sandstone, Guy described the route as “like four Grit routes one on top of the other”. The route packs in a lot of heady, bold climbing - enough to prompt Guy to confess midway up "This is about as terrifying as I'm happy for climbing to get!”. Photo is of Guy on the lower crux section (still with a good 25m of climbing above him!) with views out to Cùl Mòr and Stac Pollaidh behind.

Wow - remember looking at that face a couple of years back (if its the one on Suilvan Meall Beag - and facing west). Good effort

Yes, that's the one - it's an impressive piece of rock!

Great shot, a 5 from me. (And it might be my eyes, but is it just a wee bit squint?)
Fraser - 31/Aug/20
Cheers Fraser. The horizon does appear slightly squint in the image, but this isn't a result of it not being straight. I realised once I was in position on the rope that the 16mm lens I had with me wasn't going to be wide enough to get the whole scene in that I wanted, so instead I shot a series of images as a panorama and stitched them together afterwards. The apparently tilt in the horizon is a result of distortion caused by the stitching process. It's something I could have corrected afterwards I guess, but I quite liked the airy feeling of exposure that it gave the image. The angle of the wall itself is correct though (i.e. vertical!)

Sorry, that second sentence should've read - The horizon does appear slightly squint in the image, but this isn't a result of the image as a whole not being straight

Thanks for the explanation, I know how tricky it can be to stitch a series of images convincingly, but it's an excellent shot. Great looking rock too.
