The Petits Charmoz and the Aiguille de L'M taken from somewhere soon after getting off the Aiguille du Midi telepherique at the mid-way station. It was relatively early in the morning, hence all the blue shadow tones - I think we were on the first telepherique of the day.
What with global warming and glacier melt, I suspect this view would look very different today. If I recall, I bust a crampon strap crossing the glacier which made for a few inconvenient moments. We did the traverse of the Petits Charmoz, the peak in the centre of the shot, and then walked all the way back to Chamonix in a bid to build up some acclimatisation (just thinking about that makes me tired these days)
Slide scan, so not the best resolution, but worth sharing nevertheless.
