Airy traverse without a sling on the head wall chicken head !

I only seconded the traverse so I had little choice in the matter, but from what I saw that chicken head was quite high up and perhaps quite difficult to reach to get a sling on it. Do people second it with a back rope off the chicken head and then flick the sling off afterwards?

I first led it in 1975 on a single rope but I am quite tall and have long arms so a dubious thick tape sling was better than nothing. The shorter Second was able to flick it off.
If your Second is tall enough a longer 8mm dyneema sling can be wrapped around it!
