Early pic of him at the Avon Gorge. Iconic and unique. He did some hard routes in the Peak District in the 60's before moving onto bigger things. I met him at Stoney in 1967. He appeared climbing above me when we were on the last pitch of Alcasan. Wanting to know who we were!
