Estimated 30 footer, thanks to going off route on this excellent looking E5. The audience is Ian Small onsighting a new E5 to the left of One for Q.

Good photo, but just wondering if it is possible to go off route while onsighting a new route?
Alphin - 28/Sep/06
Clarky is on/off an established route. The other chap is on a new route.

Did the gear rip or did he get dropped? How did 4ft of slack turn into a 30 footer?
Enty - 01/Oct/06
Clarky was a lot higher up (10-15ft?) than this when he left the rock.
Jon Read - 01/Oct/06
Did his left foot get hooked in the rope? looks like it might have.
Chris Fryer - 06/Oct/06
He says he didn't, and that he was already correcting for it in this photo -- he says. I can't remember!

great photo! I think what I love most about this shot is the flailing nuts starting to fly upwards...you start to picture him slowly accelerating
