Was this ledge a coupple of rock pitches short of the ice crest? i think i may have bivied just a bit further on that night.

It was just before a rather steep pitch. then a couple more pitches and on to the ice. We saw a very nice bivi spot the next day right by the ice! There were a couple of brits that overtook us when we stopped - they climbed the steep bit then ended up retreating to an even less glamourous bivi than ours.

yeah thattle probably be us- your bivi looked like a palace in comparison to our pile of boulders! only wished we had pushed on up that little bit.

and you carried on up the rock rib at the top? We took the ice to the left - surprisingly steep and would have been great fun had i not been so knackered. We were warm in our bivi though, unlike yourselves i recall!

Yes it was freezing- i actually got some sleep, my partner didnt! Next time we wont be leaving the rollmats/ sleeping bags behind! we went for the ice on the left side of the rock which aswell as being steep seemed to be melting pretty fast. Did you get many other good photos?

No - two of us, being cold and knackered, and fear of falling rocks did not lend itself to my style pf photography! We had very heavy bads, but were at least warm. You didn't use bubblewrap did you? That would have been very mountain marathon.
