Must of felt about E4 with all that drag ;->
Phylis - 05/Nov/06
You mean half-ropes. Longer extenders would have helped.
Jamie B - 05/Nov/06
For Phylis: Don't know about the drag, you'd have to ask Dave about that, but I felt at one point there was no need for me to belay, cos the drag would have saved Dave if he'd taken a fall!!! ;->
For Jamie B: Half ropes/twins, sorry not that experienced at climbing. Whats the difference? Don't mean to be ignorant, climbing with a single rope is enough to contend with for the moment :-)

OK so it wasn't one of my finest moments in climbing. Ned, I will be watching you like a hawk with camera in hand just waiting for revenge!!

Lessons? Extend your runners, be selective of your runners when using a single rope.
And get doubles.
Double ropes=half ropes.
Twin ropes are different, don't get them.

Don't worry, I know I made a mess of it! I have got half ropes, but never think to take them to grit crags. Ned only put this up to wind me up as he knows I can do much better than this picture may suggest (Don't you Ned?!?)
Whealiebob - 07/Nov/06
I can categorically state that Whealiebob can climb much better than this picture may suggest, but I'm not going too!!! :-)) In anycase, he's going to turn me into a Yo-Yo next time I second him, so I've got to get in first.
Nedley - 07/Nov/06
And fair play to the guy, to replicate this you'd have to be dragging a sack of potatoes up the blumming wall!!
Nedley - 07/Nov/06
If your ropes are comfortably over twice as long as the crag is high then simply lead on the two ends, have your second tie onto the middle. Presto! Doubles!
