What's with the side rope? Does the route not go straight up the crack?

No the route is a bit of a strange one traversing in from the right taking in the cruxes of two easy routes before the fun really begins

How does E3 6a become F7a? Just curious!

yeah interesting one but normally E36a is about 6c or so but the section of 6a is sustained and hard so thats why i think. and also its in the guide like that.
