A four Shot PTGui Stitch at 6,600 by 3,100 pixels. The colour version is all pink sundown alpenglow, but somehow the B&W just looked better. Thanks to Tobias_at_Home for helping out, when he should have been drinking apres-ski beer.

Think Mr Adams would have liked this one, nice shot. where in the valley was it taken from?

If only ! Taken from eastern side of Les Praz off the road to Le Bois (?) - turn right at the roundabout between Chamonix & Argentiere. Different day, but similar location to my other Les Dru image.

Right place right time, like the way the cloud obscures the Verte, shows the Drus in isolation

Being there was not an accident. I knew from my previous shot a few days earlier that this was a good location. Had wathced the weather all day whilst boarding and turned down beer (!!) after a great day to go and get some shots. This light only lasted for about 5 minutes. Got beers in later mind.

Deserves to be in the top 10 photos of UKC. Very, very good.

Definitely not luck. Chris sped us from Le Tour when he saw the light/clouds and we spent at least an hour searching for the right spot/time for the photo.

looks a bit bare, where was the weather coming from?
Excellent picture, well at least a 4 but not quite a 5, you know them when they occur don't you?

I think it definitely warrants a 5. Gorgeous and well worth the effort.

Really great shot. All the more dramatic in B&W I think.

Cheers for all your positive feedback. It STILL managed to attract the obligatory Rubbish vote though!

Sexy as Hell! Looks like a scene straight from Lord of the Rings man. [:oP]
How's about a post of the full-colour picture as well, instead of just the nice portrait shot you have up..?
