do you know which route and any details of this guy and his parners? Fascinating period of climbing generally but esp in Cuillin

My climbing partner at that time was Barry Poles who was a promising young climber. Sadly he was killed in a motor accident aged 21 shortly after qualifing as a vet. We were climbing in Coire Lagan. We didn't record the route or name it. We were filling in time having failed on an attempt on the Cuillin Ridge through bad weather, and waiting (in vain) for it to improve. It was a time of great experimentation for us, both in free climbing and aid climbing. We made our own etriers either from loops of rope or later with oak rungs! If we saw a likely crack line we would go for it. Before we devised a form of cows tail it was tension climbing with the second taking the tension to hold the leader in whilst he reached up with both hands to hammer in the next peg. Very tiring!
