nice where was this?
BenGreenhalgh - 01/Apr/08
It's a newly developed, great wee crag just north of Glasgow, called Craigmaddie. Details in the new 'Bouldering in Scotland' book, by John Watson. Problem and crag details below this pic.

"Newly Developed" as in people climbed there over 10 years ago?
bentley's biceps - 02/Jul/08
Yes, ‘newly developed’. I know of people who’ve been climbing at
Craigmaddie since the 60’s, but that still doesn’t make it ‘developed’.
It’s only recently that some enthusiasts have properly cleaned the
various outcrops, both of vegetation and loose holds. Problems there
have now been worked, ticked, recorded and published and put out
there in the public domain, but only very recently.
That, in anyone’s book, makes it ‘newly developed’. If you’ve got a
claim to FAs there, fine – good for you. Feel free to put up some
photos here on UKC to clarify your point and to give some more info.
to those who may wish to climb there.
But in the big scheme of things, it’s not really that important, is it?
Fraser - 03/Jul/08
I have no interest in claiming first ascents. I boulder for enjioyment, not apparent kudos.
I'm sorry my comment came across badlt. It was meant to clarify that people have climbed here for years. About the only thing we didn't do was that 7c thingy.
It's always got dirty and overgrown very quickly, I just hope the traffic will keep it cleaner.
bentley's biceps - 06/Jul/08
No worries, ilke i said, it's not important in the biggger scheme.
I'll be interested to see how its publication affects traffic volume. I'm expecting an initial flurry then it'll die off.
