I am an ageing fat bumbly, fighting hard against my weight going up and my grades going down. I enjoy the social side of mountaineering and have made the most amazing friendships through the years. I enjoy climbing immensely and I get "withdrawal symptoms" if I haven't recently had a good day out! Born 1971 (I'm always forgetting to update my profile age!).

Location
Aberdeenshire

Best Climbing Experience
Difficult to tell!
First great climbing experience: Pic du Midi d'Ossau (voie normale), 1997
Definite most enjoyable Alpine experience: Zinalrothorn, Valais Alps, Switzerland
Possible most enjoyable rock climb: Centurion, Ben Nevis
Possible most enjoyable mixed climb: Fingers Ridge, Coire an t-Sneachda.
Most enjoyable ice-climbs: South Post Direct and Point Five.

Interests Outside Climbing
The reason I am not as good as I could be at climbing is that I much enjoy the good things in life (too much, sometimes!) - good food (both cookery myself and restaurants), good beer (my major weakness!) travelling and seeing other countries (not just when climbing), reading good books, seeing good films. Moira (my wife) and I also love to just get away for weekends, often camping or to huts an cottages further north. We also really enjoy going to the odd rugby or football match. I also enjoy a spot of sea fishing. Moira often comes with me hillwalking (including Munro-bashing, although she is far less obsessive than me, having reached 50, rather than wanting to grab all of them!), sometimes in winter. We are also cat lovers.

About My Photography
Not great, but some lucky shots from the Alps, Glencoe and a couple of winter climbs.
