I started climbing in 1973 with just a handful of easy routes. Having recovered well from a big accident in 2016 I am now out of action again due to an irreparable rotator cuff tear followed by BAR surgery. Having to try and manage without my supraspinatus muscle/tendon should be interesting....... had previous surgery on this in 2010, basically my body is wrecked. I hope to get back to leading something half decent in the near future but to be honest it would be great to just get out and enjoy climbing again regardless of the grade. An injury free year would be great. As the Yorkshire boys say ‘don’t let the old man in.’

Best Climbing Experience
Good question but too many to mention. Epic soloing days on the grit, my first visit to Buoux and Verdon in 1981 before they were very popular are very memorable. I have had great times climbing all over the UK and Europe including the Alps and as well as in the USA. I discovered the paradise of Kalymnos for the first time a few years ago and now can't get enough of it! I still love God's own rock although I am unable to lead routes that I once could solo which is a bit sad.
