I started hill-walking as a young boy in the mid '60s on my local hills - the Renfrew Heights, which rise steeply behind Largs onto rugged moorland hills; it was ideal terrain to learn my navigational skills. I climbed my first Munro (Ben Nevis) in 1969 and became a Munroist 22 years later when I completed my last Munro (Slioch) in 1991. On 26th June,2009 I became a Donaldist after completing all the 140 Donalds, New Donalds and Donald Tops; my final Donald was Meikle Mulltaggart in the Minnigaff Hills. I am now enjoying many happy days in the wild and lonely places of Scotland bagging the Corbetts, Grahams and Marilyns.

Location
Largs, North Ayrshire.
