Relaxed, sociable socialist climber, happily ticking along at VS/HVS. Also happy spending days repeating lower grade favourites & offering encouragement if you are developing/learning. Happy to belay/admire/struggle & swear on harder routes too- bomber belay & tight rope please!! Ideal partner is young, strong Sherpa if long uphill walk-in necessary!!! Bad knees & too many years of smoking! Work part time hours in Operating Theatres, leaving plenty of time to climb, with a variety of friends & strangers from UKC!! Happiest on grit, but also enjoy frightening myself occasionally on trad Peak limestone & love Welsh mountain multipitch & Cornish sea cliffs. Not really good enough for most sports routes, but occasionally give it a go. Have also just begun an affair with winter climbing- have managed toughish Lakes III without difficulties, explored the options in the Peak & had trips to European honeypots managing WI 3/4 - I do rather like perfect conditions tho. Most important is pleasant compassionate humourous companions enjoying fine times on fine routes, preferably in fine weather! Nik HawkinsLocation
