I'm a Scottish-based climber and writer. My book 'Time on Rock: A Climber's Route into the Mountains' was published by Canongate in 2022 was shortlisted for the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing and Boardman-Tasker Award for Mountain Literature. An account of ten years learning to trad climb on rock across the UK, from Yorkshire gritstone to Lake District rhyolite, from gabbro on the Cuillin ridge to Cairngorm granite.I climb several times a week and love getting out to remote island and wild mountain crags.
