I am a very keen climber, skier and alpinist and I work full time as a Mountain Instructor. I am very lucky to have bases in Sheffield in the Peak District and Llanberis, North Wales (as well as spending a chunk of the winter season on the west coast of Scotland). I have lived and worked in Snowdonia for many years since studying at Bangor University. Most of my early work has been working with young people delivering multi-activity outdoor education and this is still a proportion of what I do.
I run Orange Mountaineering offering all aspects of mountain instruction as well as working for several large organisations such as the Military and Jagged Globe. I also work for several small providers on navigation, climbing and scrambling courses and for Outdoor Centres delivering the full suite of Mountain Training awards.
I have worked and climbed in all the major mountain and climbing areas across the UK and have led several youth and adult overseas expeditions to high altitude.
I am an active member of Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team. In my own time I have been pushing my own highs year on year at high altitude in the Greater Ranges as well as trying to get a few alpine ascents (and ski descents!) every year.
