Best Climbing Experience
Soloing my first winter gullies (Aladdin's Couloir and Jacob's Ladder) and the "yessssssssssssssss!!!!" feeling on topping out and taking in some stunning views. Fab day out. :-D
My first mountain route in the sun on Gimmer in the Lake District with Cara! Ash Tree Slabs and C Route. Fantastic weather, enjoyable climbing and generally masses of fun :-)
(In a perverse way, also our ascent of Great Gully on Crag Yr Ysfa in Wales--vegetated, troll snotty, dead sheep-infested, utterly vile; but what an adventure!!)
August Bank holiday 2007 Arran trip is now up there among the favorites, with my first Scottish mountain route, Sou'wester Slabs. Definitely top in terms of location and situation!! And the full moon rising over the mountains on the first evening was fabulous!
Attempting an enchainment in North Wales recently, did Grooved Arete and Chasm Route, intended to do Sub Cneifon Rib and Cneifon Arete as well but didn't get there! Fab long mountain day out that has given me a taste for more...
Any time I get out with a group of mates, have fun, push myself, go somewhere new, climb something different--for me that's what it is all about :)
