Steady and competent but lacking in much, or indeed any, technical ability. Fortunately I can engineer my way up, down or out of pretty much anything, without requiring any climbing skill or losing much gear.

I like adventures more than I like climbing and on the uphills I can skin faster than a Rastafarian.

Best Climbing Experience
Tower Ridge in winter. A route that had been built up in my mind for years, but succumbed to four hours of straightforward cramponing and a sneaky pull on a sling ("PLEEAAASSSSEE!!!")

Table du Roc one summer just after a storm - covered in ice and devoid of other parties it was absolute granite-romping-in-crampons heaven. Shame it was so short.

Plus all those other times I went into routes with an open mind and no expectations, resulting in a feeling of new horizons opening as I topped out. Happily that has started happening a lot as my new lightweight frame drags me up all the stuff I've had my eye on for years.
