Hi, I'm Mike. I'm an illustrator / cartoonist living in the South Lakes who, after a year of near isolation due to the pandemic, has decided to get back into climbing. I used to climb many years ago - mainly trad but I'd try my hand at anything, and even used to frequent these forums back in my late teens/early twenties. I suspect it's changed a little since then.I'm just looking to climb and make some new friends - that seems to get harder as you get older.

Best Climbing Experience
Where to begin? Night of the Hot Pies in Cathedral Quarry after a real confidence shaker on Cruel Sister (Pavey Ark). That's probably one of my more memorable rock climbing experiences.
In regards to just hiking, Sentinel Dome in Yosemite is probably one of the best. That was a good long day out and an amazing holiday.

Interests Outside Climbing
I enjoy fell running and cycling. I'm a keen artist, illustrator and cartoonist and am currently attempting to write an illustrated children's book.
